Our methods start with semi-structured interviews with people who have recently made use of the Wells College Seed Bank.
After these initial interviews our student researchers will conduct garden tour interviews with those interested in participating further. The students will take photos of the participants’ gardens and perhaps record the participants talking about their work in the garden.
Those who use the vegetables they grow to cook may participate in providing recipes and tips and tricks about cooking. They may also consent to being recorded as they cook.
All of this data will be used to help us understand a wide array of research questions associated with gardening and cooking in the Southern Cayuga County region.
